CyrilleNkontchou_5Cyrille Nkontchou is Founder and Chairman of Enko Education, a fast-growing network of African International schools that provides affordable quality education to African students and opens up access to the world's best universities. Its alumni study in more than 200 universities across the world. He was nominated in 2006 as Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

Recognising that economic development is closely linked to education, Nkontchou wants to inspire and empower young Africans and give them the best opportunities the world can offer. Enko Education uses world-leading programmes including the International Baccalaureate and Cambridge in its primary and secondary schools, providing African students with globally recognised qualifications.  Its curriculum is flexible and can be tailored to different cultures, allowing it to teach global concepts while anchoring them in an African context. 

Enko’s impact can be seen with 71% of its 2021 cohort gaining places at leading global universities. It boasts an 80% pass rate for the International Baccalaureate. It has grown from just four students in 2014 to 3,400 students last year, with 399 of these benefiting from scholarships. The company has created new employment opportunities for teachers and has trained 520 teachers to be accredited to international standards.

Born in Cameroon, Nkontchou holds a BA in Economics from Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and an MBA from Harvard Business School. As a business leader, he founded two companies before Enko Education: LiquidAfrica Holdings Limited, a pan-African investment bank specialised in capital raising and trading on all African markets, and Enko Capital, a private equity fund.
