Tatiana Klix

Executive Director, Porvir

Brazil

Tatiana Klix is Executive Director of Porvir, a non-profit organisation including Brazil’s most important education media platform. As a journalist and social entrepreneur, she has spent the last 15 years covering education, using her writing to help change the face of Brazilian education.

She began working for the newly launched Porvir website in 2014, first as editor,
before the project became an independent NGO called Instituto Porvir and she
became its director.

Porvir’s mission is to drive transformations that ensure quality and equity in Brazilian education. It does this on two fronts: through the porvir.org media platform that maps educational trends and policies and inspires and informs educators, and a solutions agency that creates communication strategies, content, experiences, and digital platforms to inform, inspire, and support educators.

A distinctive aspect of Porvir’s work is the constant dialogue with the educational community, which actively participates in its content and initiatives. This interaction occurs in its virtual communities on WhatsApp, which has gathered 4,000 users, and in online and face-to-face events, where educators can share experiences, ideas, and questions.

Among the projects that receive technical support from Instituto Porvir are the
Itinerários Amazônicos platform, a free programme to promote the Amazon in
Brazilian schools, the Solve For Tomorrow Latam platform, which recognises and strengthens a network of teachers engaged in STEM projects in more than 20 countries in Latin America, and the Escolas Conectadas platform, for continuing education for educators.

Klix is also co-founder and advisor of Quero na Escola, a platform that connects
society to school by giving agency to students to choose what they want to learn, and serves on the board of the Association of Education Journalists (Jeduca).
