Novakid from Novakid Inc

Novakid is an online English language learning platform designed for young learners. The platform offers one-to-one lessons and group speaking practice lessons, virtual 360-degree tours, in-class games, and AI and machine learning-based assessment of students' progress, allowing teachers to adapt the programme to each student.

The platform includes one-to-one live tutoring in English. Each lesson lasts 25 minutes to keep young learners engaged. Lessons use games, songs, animations, and visual aids.

It also features World Kids Academy - international speaking groups for children, led by a teacher. This is a global community of young English learners from 50+ countries who participate in group speaking practice sessions created to give kids confidence when speaking English.

Additionally, Novakid Junior is a free English language learning app that uses interactive lessons, organised in themes such as animals or vehicles, alongside activities such as object finding and matching exercises and games to teach speaking skills through play.

Novakid's teaching methodology emphasises 100% English language immersion and interactive activities. The platform offers individual and group speaking lessons, incorporating games and virtual reality tours to enhance engagement. The curriculum is divided into five levels, catering to various age groups and proficiency levels, and corresponds to the CEFR standards.

The CEFR framework is a guideline that assesses language learning progress and ability. It is used by schools and language teachers to create worksheets, develop exams and structure courses. The CEFR framework has six levels that evaluate language proficiency. The Novakid curriculum is structured around each of these levels.

Novakid’s teaching approach is grounded in immersive, activity-based learning. The company employs a learning by doing methodology, in which students use English to learn English, without reliance on translation or native language support. This method is rooted in research showing that language immersion is one of the most effective strategies for language acquisition.

Novakid creates immersive online environments where students are surrounded by the target language. Teachers use the PPP (Presentation, Practice and Production) approach to guide students through the learning process:

Presentation sees new vocabulary and grammar concepts are introduced in a contextualised and visual manner. Practice sees students engage in various interactive activities such as games, reading, and listening exercises to reinforce understanding. And Production sees learners encouraged to use newly acquired language skills in speech and communication.

To aid comprehension and maintain engagement, Novakid incorporates Total Physical Response (TPR) techniques. Teachers use gestures, miming, and physical movements to help convey meaning and encourage participation. This method supports kinesthetic learning and is effective in early language development.
