Curriculum Linked - Virtual Work Experience by Developing Experts Ltd

Developing Experts is an AI-powered, curriculum-embedded Virtual Work Experience and Workforce Readiness platform that lets young people try a career before they commit to one. It transforms work experience from a scarce, postcode-dependent privilege into structured, measurable preparation for work available to every learner at national scale.

At its core are immersive, employer co-created simulations featuring Skill Drills that enable learners to develop and demonstrate key competencies, with achievement recognised through micro-credential assessment.  Learners step inside real sectors and roles — guided by 360° workplace tours, talking-head industry interviews and time-bound applied challenges — and work to genuine professional expectations. AI-generated career profiles, built from a labour market structured into 35 navigable career families, help learners explore roles, understand required skills, see live apprenticeship vacancies and salary data, and assess their alignment before choosing a pathway.

As learners progress, the platform converts their activity into a structured diagnostic readiness profile: competency heat maps, applied task scores, behavioural consistency, engagement and persistence indicators, and reflective maturity scoring derived from natural language processing of their written reflections. Crucially, this diagnostic belongs to the learner. They see it first, can reattempt modules to improve, and decide whether to share it with employers through explicit opt-in consent — there is no automatic forwarding.

This activity feeds a Level 1–4 accredited Workforce Readiness qualification (Ofqual pending), mapped to the Regulated Qualifications Framework and graded Pass, Merit or Distinction. Learners build recognised, portable capability across four strands — Financial Capability, Transferable Skills, Workplace Skills, and Sustainability and ESG — leaving with proof of readiness whether or not they are hired.

For teachers, an AI lesson generator produces curriculum-aligned content — presentations, quizzes, keywords, career links and lesson plans — that educators can edit and personalise, including for SEND and language needs, keeping professional oversight while saving time. For schools and employers, AI-powered dashboards turn participation into intelligence: engagement and retention analytics, quiz and task performance, composite engagement scores, and demographic analysis designed to surface participation disparities so they can be addressed rather than hidden.

At scale, this anonymised data becomes regional workforce intelligence — sector interest, readiness levels and emerging skills gaps by area — supporting smarter, fairer talent planning.

Developing Experts, is Global Skills Partner to Rolls-Royce SMR, the Hospital Build Programme and Morgan Sindall. It replaces guesswork with experience, and reactive filtering with skills-led alignment.
