Doctor of Education (Ed.D.)by upGrad Education Private Limited
The Edgewood University Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) is a 24-month, 45-credit, 100% online doctoral programme designed for working education professionals, school and university leaders, instructional designers, and corporate learning specialists, who want to advance into senior leadership roles without pausing their careers.
Delivered by Edgewood University, an independent liberal arts university founded in 1927 in Madison, Wisconsin, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (CHEA-recognized) and WES-recognised for global credential equivalency, the programme is offered in partnership with upGrad as the enrollment and delivery platform. Minimum eligibility is a master's degree.
Candidates choose from five career-aligned specialisations: Emerging Technologies in Education, Online Learning and Education Technology, K–12 Educational Leadership, Higher Educational Leadership, and Curriculum Studies and Learning Sciences. The curriculum progresses through three phases: a Core Phase building research and leadership foundations, a Specialisation Phase focused on the chosen track, and a Dissertation Phase guiding candidates from proposal through final defence with a dedicated faculty committee. Each candidate selects a research topic aligned with their own professional context and goals, culminating in an applied dissertation.
The programme follows a cohort-based learning model. Upon enrolment, candidates join an established scholarly community of over 900 educators, spanning 40+ countries and 6 continents, comprising graduates and current candidates from international schools, universities, government ministries, and corporate training divisions. This community serves as an enduring professional network that candidates may draw upon for collaboration, mentorship, and career opportunities during and beyond the program. The programme also includes AI-driven learning resources and a flexible pay-per-month tuition model.
Graduates leave with advanced research and analytical capability, values-based leadership skills, and a globally recognised doctoral credential, a pathway that has taken alumni into roles as college presidents, superintendents, university administrators, and nonprofit leaders.
