Community Choice Award 2025

While the winners of the five main Prizes were selected by an expert Judging Academy, a public vote was held across all 50 shortlisted schools – and one school captured hearts around the world.

The winner of the Community Choice Award is:
ZP School Jalindarnagar, a government primary school in Khed, Pune, Maharashtra, India, is transforming public education through its visionary Subject Friend system. This innovative peer-learning model empowers students of different ages to teach and learn from one another, creating dynamic, inclusive classrooms where everyone’s voice matters. Despite limited resources and rural isolation, the school’s outstanding dedication and strong community involvement — from local villagers to parents and former students — have made it a beacon of innovation and inclusion, driving lasting positive change across the region.

Applications Now Open for the World’s Best School Prizes 2026

The call is now open for schools around the world to apply for the World’s Best School Prizes 2026.

Established in 2022 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Prizes celebrate schools that are transforming lives and communities, and give them a platform to inspire global change.

Open to all legally registered schools teaching compulsory-age students – including kindergartens, primaries, secondaries, and online schools – the five Prizes honour excellence in:

  • Environmental Action
  • Innovation
  • Overcoming Adversity
  • Supporting Healthy Lives

Applications close on 6 March 2026.
